Of Sand and Sandstorms

So goes the beauty of relationships, complicated and intense, fragile, yet, they delicately sparkle when left alone. Relationships are like sand!

Interesting comparisons, but it just amazes me when I think about sand and relationships.

The tiny little sand particles cling ever so beautifully, allowing you to mould them into whatever shape you want..design them according to your hearts content, draw images on them..and simply erase all if you didn’t like them.

Aren’t relationships a bit like that too? First we get attracted to what they are, then mould them into how we want them to, play around with relationships and draw images we dream about, and when it looks ugly, we instantly erase them away thinking we’ll redraw!

Take a handful of sand in your hand, the more tighter you try to hold on to it, the more faster it tries to escapes from your fingers. The stronger the clasp, the quicker it drains, leaving your fingers all soared up.

On the other hand, just take a handful of sand and admire it when it calmly rests on your palm..it sparkles under the sunrays..it stays put, doesn’t it. When you don’t squeeze it, crush it, (in vain attempts to hold on to it), when you just let it be, it remains on your palm forever until you throw it away!

Maybe this is how relationships should be treated too..left to stay, without squeezing or crushing them, I think they last longer that way!

They might even add sparkles of different colors to your life. This could even prevent a sandstorm!

There’s a lot of learning and discovering to do in this world..

Wonder what the sand in paradise would be like!? =)

Masha’Allah that’s a very interesting analogy! I don’t think anyone has thought of relationships in that way but I can’t agree more! Sometimes when we hold on to something too tightly, it suffocates both parties and somehow, the relationship starts to ‘slip in between your fingers’. Happens often especially when we become a bit too enthusiastic after meeting new people..

It was a sudden analogy sis..but there is a lot to learn from nature subhanAllah!
Yeah your right sis..it happens more so when your build a relationship with anyone, especially initially..

I would love to hear from you..
